M achine data collection and diagnostics is supported on all major Unix and Windows Operating Systems, e.g. Solaris, Linux, AIX, HP-UX, Windows Server 2011, Windows Server 2012, Windows MultiPoint Server.
The scanning frequency is fully configurable and could range from serveral times a day to daily or weekly scans.
We offer fully configurable data collection. Machine Data can contain configuration files, script outputs, log files but also information about the running state of a server. Data collection is completely non-intrusive and configuration is secured through additional validation steps.
Machine Data scans vary in complexity depending on individual configuration, server size and operating system. Uncompressed data volumes in our experience range from few Kilobytes to serveral Megabytes per server. A machine for example with hundreds of SAN storage devices will generate more data volume than a blade server with only local storage.

The scanning population is fully configurable with the option to group servers by regions, timezones or by any other user defined criteria.
Reporting is a key feature and provides vital information for decision making for both day-to-day operations as well as datacenter strategy. I-Insight provides reports at the most granular server level but also horizontally at application level. Detailed statistics can be accumulated into high-level Datacenter views with the ability to drill down into any required level of granularity.
The unique combination of change and incident information with real Machine Data allows for pro-active server management, shorter Incident Mean Time To Recovery and efficient post change diagnostics. I-Insight accepts data from existing tools either through direct access or industry standard exchange formats.
